Windows 10 User? This is a Must Read!!

May 18, 2019

When windows 10 first came out Microsoft recommended that you have at least 350 MB of space available for windows 10 updates. Now they recommend 1 Gigabyte of system reserve space. If you do not have enough space for the May 2019 and following updates, your computer could freeze up, start acting strange and if not corrected it can become unresponsive. What can you do? If you are installing windows 10 you need to make sure you size your reserve partition to 1 gigabyte for future updates.

If you already have windows 10 installed there are several ways to increase your reserve partition. You cannot do this using windows. You need special software to increase your reserve partition without losing information or worse causing windows 10 to not boot up. There is free software available online, but make sure you know what you are doing before you start. Always backup your files before trying anything like this. If you have not yet had the new May update installed I recommend that you pause your updates for at least a month. Any problems (and there will be and have already been problems) will be worked out so that when you continue to update you will have avoided possible problems.
