How long will Microsoft support Windows 7 ?

Through January, 12, 2015 Microsoft will continue to provide the same support you have today. Computer owners using the windows 7 operating system will continue to receive security updates and patches. It should be noted that Microsoft may decide to change some options to your current system. Sometime in 2015 Microsoft will start providing only “Extended Support” which only covers the basics. The security updates will not cover “Hotfixes” Although you have some time left you should ready yourself for windows 8.1 because windows 10 will be here before you know it!
